Coach Ryan Jensen was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. A former soccer player, football was introduced late as a Junior in High School by Coach Steve Ellison. Jensen was named Offensive Lineman of the year in 2006 at Petaluma. At Santa Rosa Junior College, Jensen earned first team all NorCal honors as an offensive tackle. Coach Jensen was offered multiple division one scholarships including Arkansas State, Texas State, and Old Dominion University. Coach Jensen ultimately decided to enroll at Old Dominion University for their inaugural college football team. At Old Dominion Jensen started every game at Offensive Tackle with a team record of 9-2, 8-3, and 10-3 becoming the greatest start up football program in the history of college football.
After college, Coach Jensen had an NFL pro day where he was worked out by multiple teams. Coach Jensen had a short stint in the Arena Football League for the San Jose Sabrecats and The Utah Blaze. After retiring from a playing career, Coach Jensen returned to SRJC as an offensive line coach.
